Grand Canyon is the temporary home of the Nava tribe after their real home was destroyed by Lady. It is also the location of The Altar of the Earth, and it is where Shania gains her second fusion Tatan'ka. Zonda is introduced here as well. Zonda is the chief of the tribe, and is Shania's betrothed, as the group quickly figures out. Later on in the storyline, Zonda hands over the Sky-Blue Ring to assist the party in keeping The Gate closed.
The first visit to the Grand Canyon grants Natan the Gada Pot, a pot used to capture UMAs. For more information, see UMA Hunts.
The path to the Altar is short and whinding, but the road is blocked by several Totem statues along the way. The Totem statues will ask the party questions based on the murals seen along the way, such as how many murals there are in total.
