A few of the Fabregé Eggs
- Anastasia's eggs are a reference to the famous Fabregé Eggs, jewelled Easter eggs that were made by the St Petersburg jewellery firm, House of Fabregé. The majority of the eggs were commissioned by the tsars Alexander III and Nicolas II as gifts for their wives and mothers, and are known as the imperial eggs.
Several of Anastasia's eggs are direct references to existing Fabrege eggs: the Blue Serpent egg shares its name with the Blue Serpent Clock Egg, while the Snow Flower egg highly resembles the Winter Egg, and to a lesser extent, the Nobel Ice Egg.
The White Swan egg was possibly inspired by the Swan Egg, and the Red Peacock by the Peacock Egg.
